Drip & espresso
Several house-roasted profiles. Espresso, americano, latte, cappuccino, cortado. Cold brew through the warmer months. Stay for the chai — regulars insist it is the best in Edwardsville and we are inclined to agree.

The cafe
Roasted in-house at Plaid Coffee Roasters, served at the espresso bar with the pastries fresh out of the oven.
House-roasted
Trevor owns both 222 and Plaid Coffee, his roastery a few minutes from the bakery. Every bean served here is roasted there. That means the coffee tastes like the bakery thinks about it, not like a bag we ordered. Fresh dates. Real roast development. An espresso bar with a real reason to be here.
Ask what’s on the bar today. Pour over by the cup. Cold brew through the warm months. The kids’ chocolate milk is also house-made because of course it is.

Pressed paninis, the turkey-and-pesto, The Kim chicken salad, club, BLT. Each one built on bread we baked this morning. Lunch runs Tuesday through Thursday from the bar.

The Spinach Salad with cranberries, almonds, and bleu cheese. The House with walnuts and apples. And whatever soup is on the burner today. Ask Trevor.

Croissants, cinnamon rolls, Danish, scones. The pastry case is two steps from the bar. Pulled hot by 7am.
Weekend specials
Saturday and Sunday only. Order biscuits and gravy by the half or whole. Or ask for The Dunn Deal: baguette and gravy, a regular favorite the weekend crowd lines up for.
Pair it with a cup of the morning roast and a pastry from the case. The kind of breakfast that turns Sunday into something.
They roast their own coffee and there are many options to choose from. Made fresh with locally sourced products. It is our go-to place.

Park out front. Bike up to the rack. Pull a chair to the window. The room is set up for sitting and staying, not just grabbing and going. Pull a book off the shelf. Bring the laptop. Bring your neighbor.
Regulars say it feels like stepping into your grandma’s house during the holidays. We agree. That was the goal.
